Our top of the range broom, built for yards that take a hammering. Grain stores, livestock buildings, concrete aprons, recycling and AD sites, road works. Thirteen rows of brush and no hydraulics to go wrong.
The 13 in the name is the number of rows of bristle, and it's the heaviest broom Actisweep make. Hitch it on, drive forward, that's it. There's no down pressure to set and nothing to plumb in.
The V-Concept, and why it matters
Most push brooms leave you a swath down each side that you then have to drive back through. The three front rows on the Actisweep sit in a V, so the muck gets pulled into the middle of the broom and stays there. Two short rows at the point of the V stop it heaping up in the centre. Eight straight rows at the back finish the job.
Actisweep reckon it shifts four times what a rotary sweeper will. We'd take that as a manufacturer's figure rather than an independent one, but the principle is sound and it's the reason the thing works in one pass instead of three.
Build and wear
- Thirteen rows of polypropylene fibre, 300mm high, 3 to 4mm diameter
- 8 straight rows at the rear, 3 rows in a V at the front, 2 short rows at the tip of the V
- Folded steel frame, epoxy painted
- Hot dip galvanised adapters
- No hydraulics, no grease points, no annual service
- Brush life quoted at up to 1,000km of sweeping
The 1,000km is Actisweep's own figure and it'll depend entirely on what you're sweeping and how rough the surface is. Concrete in a grain store is a different animal to a chipped road surface. When the bristles do go, you order a brush set, unscrew the sides, slide the old rows out and the new ones in, screw it back up. About fifteen minutes.
Cleaning is a hose down. You don't even need to hang it up, stand it on its brushes in the corner of the workshop and they'll carry the weight of the frame.
Sizes
Six widths. The 1500 to 2400 are 800mm deep, the 3000 and up are 1050mm deep. All of them stand 300mm high.

What it fits
Tractor, telehandler, forklift or digger, there's an adapter for it. Changeover is five to ten seconds once the adapter's on, so the broom can follow the machine that's free rather than tying one up.
- Standard forks - for forks under 190 x 65mm
- Standard bucket - universal, buckets and forks
- Bale gripper - universal, grippers and forks
- Front end loader - quick hitch, Euroquick compatible
- Loader, alligator clip bucket - universal
- Three point linkage - straight onto a conventional tractor hitch

Options
- Anti scattering kit - adds a second collection area, 15cm each side, and lets you run along walls and kerbs without snagging
- Angulation kit - angles the broom so you can swath to one side
- Strengthened frame - heavier gauge steel all round
- Finishing brush kit - finer bristles, more of them, for fine dust and a tidier finish

Availability
Brooms, brushes, adapters and options are held in stock, so delivery is normally inside a fortnight. If you're not sure which width or which adapter you need, give us a ring with the machine you'll be hanging it off and we'll sort it.
