Orius-P is out of stock across the UK. We've asked every supplier we deal with and nobody has any, and nobody can tell us when it'll be back. This page stays up so you can find what to use instead.
What we're stocking in its place: Generic Prosaro 5 litre, £72 + VAT. Same actives as Prosaro, Navaro, Levancio and Pevi: 125 g/l prothioconazole + 125 g/l tebuconazole.
Where it's better
- The rate is 1.0 l/ha against 1.5 l/ha, so a can does 5 ha instead of 3.3 ha. That's about £14.40/ha against £21.60/ha at the same can price.
- Prothioconazole is one of the two actives AHDB names for eyespot at T1, and it's the azole most people reach for at T3 for ear disease.
- More crops on the label: wheat, barley, oats, winter rye and oilseed rape.
Where it isn't the same
- There's no prochloraz in it, so it's an alternative, not a like-for-like swap.
- On the label, eyespot in wheat and barley is reduction, not control. On a high eyespot risk field, talk to your agronomist about what goes in with it.
- It isn't approved on triticale. Orius-P is.
- Latest timing is end of flowering (GS69) in wheat and rye, and beginning of flowering (GS61) in barley and oats. Maximum of 2 sprays per crop.
