Actisweep V7 push broom

The V7 is the economical broom in the Actisweep V-Concept range. It sweeps on exactly the same principle as the V9 and V13 — it simply has fewer rows of brushes, and a shorter list of options and adapters to go with it. If you are not sweeping every day, this is the one that makes sense.

No hydraulics, nothing to service. It hitches on in a few seconds and you drive forward — there is no need to push down on it.

How the V-Concept works

The front rows of brushes are set in a V. As you drive forward the V pulls the material into the middle of the broom rather than letting it escape down both sides, so you are not left with two swaths to come back and cross. Actisweep hold the patent on it and rate the broom at four times the output of a rotary sweeper.

The row layout on the V7 is:

• 3 straight rows across the back
• 2 rows forming the V at the front, gathering material to the centre
• 2 short rows at the tip of the V, to spread the load evenly and stop sweepings building up

Brushes

Solid polypropylene fibre, 3–4mm thick, at a high density per row. Actisweep quote a brush life of up to 800km on the V7, though that will depend on what you are sweeping and what you are sweeping it on — concrete is harder work than a shed floor.

When the brushes are done you do not replace the broom. Replacement brush kits are held in stock for all three widths: unbolt the sides, slide the worn rows out, slide the new ones into the rails, bolt the sides back on. About fifteen minutes.

Build

Heavy-gauge folded steel frame, epoxy painted, hot-dip galvanised for extra protection against corrosion. No hydraulic connections and no grease points — hose the brushes off when you are finished. It will stand in the corner of the workshop on its own brushes, which carry the weight of the chassis quite happily, so there is nothing to hang up.

Fitting it to your machine

The V7 mounts to tractors, forklifts, telehandlers and loaders. Hitching and unhitching takes five to ten seconds once the adapter is on, and the adapters are hot-dip galvanised. The V7 carries a shorter adapter list than the V9 and V13, so tell us what you are putting it on and we will confirm what you need.

Options

• Anti-scattering kit — adds a second collection area either side, so you can run tight along a wall or a kerb without catching the structure.
